Pre-Purchase Exams

Thorough, in-depth evaluations of horses considered for purchase

Our pre-purchase exams usually include the following diagnostics:

  • Comprehensive physical exam

  • Lameness exam

  • Blood work

  • Drug screening

  • Digital radiography

  • Ultrasonography

  • Endoscopy

If you are considering the purchase of a horse and you are not already an established client submit the new client form and then contact us to set up your pre-purchase exam.

An important note about pre-purchase exams: Our veterinarians always work for the buyer, but their job is not to pass or fail an animal. Rather, they provide you with important, objective information regarding any existing medical problems and discuss those problems with you. This will help you make an informed pre-purchase decision. It is also important to remember that no vet can predict the future and buying a horse will always come with inherent risks.
