Dental care is an important component of routine veterinary health care. Regular dental attention helps horses to optimize the nutrition that they get from their diet and facilitates early diagnosis of problems, such as malocclusions, tooth fractures, and infections. Eliminating sharp enamel points and dental malocclusions can also help with performance, making athletes more comfortable with the bridle. We use a variety of tools, including power and hand floats.

A routine dental procedure involves standing sedation, a thorough dental exam, and powerfloating the necessary areas. Hand floats are also used as needed. Motorized tools are used judiciously and our first priority is always the horse's comfort and well-being.
